As a teacher in the public school system I have seen so many children (both Gen Ed and Special Ed) struggle with reading, writing and math. These children start to lose motivation to learn and are sometimes labeled as "behavior issues." Often times the root cause of their learning and/or behavioral issues is that they never learned basic skills to mastery so they are unable to learn more complex concepts being taught in school.
I believe that ALL children can learn these skills with the right environment and instruction. My goal is to help children become confident life-long learners!

I use a group of research based curricula (named Direct Instruction) that has been proven effective for over 50 years (https://www.nifdi.org/). Placement Tests are administered to determine your child's current level and benchmark assessments ensure that they are making appropriate progress. Children become active participants in their learning. My goal is to make confident life-long learners.

Applied Behavior Analysis is the application of the Science of Behavior to improve socially valid outcomes. Even when children receive ABA therapy from competent providers, the skills are often not generalized to the natural setting. I can help you work to generalize those skills to improve your child's quality of life. My goal is always to help children live a happy and fulfilling life.

Special Education Teacher and BCBA
I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I decided to become certified in Special Education because I had a passion early on to help the children that struggled in school. I started my career as an ABA therapist in the Early Intervention system, working with young children with Autism. It was at that agency that I began to master the effective teaching strategies that would help me throughout my career. I then began working as a Special Education Teacher in various settings. While working as a Kindergarten teacher in a Communication Needs classroom, I received consultations from experts in the field of Verbal Behavior. Soon after, I decided to become a Behavior Analyst. In 2014 I fulfilled the requirements and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Throughout my career I have worked with children from Kindergarten to High School with and without diagnoses. My schooling and experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst has been invaluable when working as a teacher and tutor. Because really... Behavior Analysis is the Science of LEARNING.
