Special Education Teacher and BCBA
I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I decided to become certified in Special Education because I had a passion early on to help the children that struggled in school. I started my career as an ABA therapist in the Early Intervention system, working with young children with Autism. It was at that agency that I began to master the effective teaching strategies that would help me throughout my career. I then began working as a Special Education Teacher in various settings. While working as a Kindergarten teacher in a Communication Needs classroom, I received consultations from experts in the field of Verbal Behavior. Soon after, I decided to become a Behavior Analyst. In 2014 I fulfilled the requirements and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Throughout my career I have worked with children from Kindergarten to High School with and without diagnoses. My schooling and experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst has been invaluable when working as a teacher and tutor. Because really... Behavior Analysis is the Science of LEARNING.
